52D LAWRENCE

  • Starting Monday, January 5, we're revising the looping at Culford to provide a new service into the Sheffield industrial area and a closer service to Northwestern Hospital and Baker Health Clinic.  Buses will run from Lawrence West Station via Lawrence and loop until 3:00 p.m. counterclockwise via Benton, Colville, Sheffield, Ingram, Gulliver, Culford and Lawrence.  Buses will reverse the looping after 3:00 p.m. Service will no longer be provided on Flamborough Dr. between Culford and Keele.

  • Service will continue to be provided 12 hours a day, Monday through Friday only, every 20 minutes during rush hours and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours.  Buses will leave Lawrence West Station from 6:40 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. and Keele & Gulliver from 6:20 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Monday-Friday rush hour express/local service cut back to run between Warden Station and Steeles only.  Buses loop at Steeles via Wintermute, Mount Castle and Steeles.

114A KINGSTON RD. EAST

  • Evening service Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday between Warden Station and Markham Rd. discontinued.  Last trips will leave Warden Station at 6:30 p.m. and Markham Rd. at 6:57 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday 6:50 p.m.).

102B MARKHAM RD.

  • All Saturday evening trips will run between Warden Station and Sheppard & Markham Rd.  No Saturday evening service looping at Centennial College.

116 OAKDALE

  • Monday-Friday rush hour route discontinued and replaced by a new branch of the 84 SHEPPARD WEST route.

72A PAPE

  • Late evening Monday-Friday "King" service discontinued.  Last 72A "King" trips will leave Pape Station at 6:38 p.m. and King at 6:36 p.m. 

84B, 84C SHEPPARD WEST

  • Buses on the new 84C "Oakdale via Air Base" branch will run during Monday-Friday rush hours only between Sheppard Station an Steeles, both ways via Sheppard, CFB Toronto, Sheppard, Oakdale, Norfinch and Steeles to Jane looping via Jane, Hullmar and Peter Kaiser.  Replaces the 116 OAKDALE route.  Service to CFB Toronto and the Oakdale/Norfinch area will no longer be provided from Wilson Station.

  • 84B "Weston via Air Base" buses will run Monday-Friday only from about 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

88B SOUTH LEASIDE

  • Evening service Monday-Friday and service all day Sunday revised to run to Laird only.  Buses will run from St. Clair Station over regular routing to Millwood & Sutherland, looping via Millwood, McRae, Laird, Southvale and Millwood.

95B, 95D YORK MILLS

  • East end looping revised.  Buses will run over regular route to Highland Creek then run both ways via Lawson Rd., Port Union Rd. and Lawrence to Rouge Hill GO Station.  95D "Express/Local" buses run express both ways between York Mills Station and Fenside (east of the Don Valley Parkway) stopping at Leslie, Don Mills and Sandover only.

106A YORK UNIVERSITY EXPRESS

  • Monday-Friday service to run later.  Last trips will leave Wilson Station at 6:00 p.m. and York University at 6:30 p.m. with a later trip at 6:48 p.m.

INTRODUCING THE BLUE NIGHT NETWORK

  • Effective 1:00 a.m., Monday, February 9, the TTC will introduce its new Blue Night Network.  With the introduction of the network, 86% of the residents of Metropolitan Toronto will be within a 15-minute walk of late-night TTC service.

  • Service on the new network will be provided on 22 routes, every night from approximately 1:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.  On Sunday mornings, some routes will provide later service, while others will be replaced at 5:30 a.m. with the regular daytime service.  Blue Night Network services will run at 30 minute intervals, except on the 300 BLOOR-DANFORTH and 320 YONGE routes where service is more frequent.  Whenever possible, timed transfer connections will be made between routes.

  • Vehicles on the new network will display a 300-series routes number and unique blue route and destination signs.  Reflective blue bands will identify Blue Night Network transit stop markers.

  • Many of the routes will use subway station loops to turn around.  Passengers are reminded that they will not be picked up or dropped off in a station when the subway is closed.

302 DANFORTH RD. - McCOWAN

  • A new route running from Danforth & Danforth Rd. and Steeles via Danforth Rd. and McCowan, looping at Danforth Avenue via Danforth Avenue and Danforth Rd..  Replaces part of the 93 DANFORTH EAST night route and provides a new Blue Night Network service on McCowan north of Scarborough City Centre.

303 DON MILLS VIA COXWELL

  • A new route running from Victoria Park & Kingston Rd. (Bingham Loop) and Steeles via Kingston Rd., Queen, Coxwell, Cosburn, Pape, Millwoood, Overlea and Don Mills, looping at Steeles via Steeles, Townsend and Freshmeadow.  Replaces the 22A COXWELL all-night route and provides a new Blue Night Network service on Don Mills and parts of Overlea, Millwood, Pape and Cosburn.

305 EGLINTON EAST - LAWRENCE

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on Eglinton and Lawrence from Eglinton Station to Rouge Hill GO Station via Eglinton, Kingston Rd. and Lawrence.

307 EGLINTON WEST

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on Eglinton Avenue West from Eglinton Station to Eglinton & Renforth

308 FINCH EAST

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on Finch Avenue East from Finch Station to Markham Rd., looping at Markham via Finch, Tapscott, Newgale, Finchdene and Finch.

309 FINCH WEST

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on Finch Avenue West from Finch Station to Albion & Martin Grove via Finch, Islington and Albion, looping at Martin Grove via Finch, Silverstone, Lexington and Martin Grove.

311 ISLINGTON

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on Islington Avenue from Lake Shore to Steeles.

313 JANE VIA DUNDAS

  • A new route running between Dundas West Station and Steeles via Dundas and Jane, looping at Steeles via Hullmar, Peter Kaiser and Steeles. Replaces the 40 JUNCTION all-night route and provides a new Blue Night Network service on Jane north of Dundas.

314 DUFFERIN - BATHURST

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on Dufferin south of Lawrence and on Bathurst north of Lawrence.  Buses will run from Exhibition West Loop to Steeles via Dufferin, Queen, Gladstone, Peel, Dufferin, Lawrence and Bathurst, looping at Steeles via Fisherville, Carpenter, Steeles, Village Gate and Greenwin Village Rd.

318 WARDEN

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on Warden Avenue from Danforth Avenue  to Steeles, looping at Steeles via east on Bamburgh Circle and looping at Danforth Avenue via Danforth Avenue and Danforth Rd.

319 WILSON

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on Wilson Avenue and into the Rexdale area running from York Mills Station via Wilson, Albion, Elmhurst and the daytime 96 WILSON routing to Carrier Dr.

321 YORK MILLS VIA NEILSON

  • A new route providing Blue Night Network service on York Mills, Ellesmere and Neilson running from York Mills Station via York Mills, Parkwood Village Dr., Ellesmere and Neilson to Finch, looping at Finch via Finch, Tapscott, Newgale, Finchdene and Finch.

  • Monday-Friday evening northbound route 11 buses connect at Sheppard with the northbound route 26 buses.  Route 11 early evening trip departure times have been adjusted to provide this connection.

44 KIPLING SOUTH and 80 QUEENSWAY

  • Monday-Friday evening westbound route 80 buses and northbound route 44 buses connect at Kipling & Queensway.  Route 44 evening trip departure times have been adjusted to provide this connection.

54D LAWRENCE EAST

  • A new Monday-Friday afternoon rush hour branch between Don Mills and Morningside provides additional service on the heavier-carrying portion of the route.  Buses loop at Don Mills south of Lawrence via Donway East and Donway West.  They loop at Morningside via Lawrence, Morningside and Kingston Rd.

86B SCARBOROUGH

  • A new Monday-Friday rush hour branch between Kennedy Station and Kingston Rd. provides additional service on the heavier-carrying portion of the route.  Buses loop at Lawrence via Lawrence, Morningside and Kingston Rd.

May 24, 1987

55 WARREN PARK

  • Starting Monday, May 25, a trial bus route will provide Monday-Friday service into Warren Park until October 16 only.

  • WARREN PARK 55 buses will run from Jane Station via Jane and Dundas, looping through Warren Park via Gooch, Van Stassen, Varsity, Crosby, Warren Cres., Old Dundas and Dundas. Service will be provided every 15 minutes during rush hours and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours. Buses will leave Jane Station from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. they’ll leave Warren Park (Varsity & Van Stassen) from 5:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.

TTC BUS TERMINAL AT YORK MILLS STATION CLOSING DURING CONSTRUCTION

  • Starting Sunday, May 24, TTC buses will no longer use the existing bus terminal at York Mills Station as York Trillium Developments begins construction over the station, including new terminals for TTC and regional buses just north of the existing facility.

  • Included in Phase One will be the construction of a new TTC bus terminal.  The parking lot on the northwest corner corner of Wilson & Yonge has been closed since the end of April and converted into a temporary bus terminal facility.  96 WILSON, 101 EDWARDS GARDENS, 122 GRAYDON HALL, 115 SILVER HILLS, 78 ST. ANDREWS and 97A YONGE buses will use this temporary facility for approximately 9 months. 95 YORK MILLS buses will load on Old York Mills Rd. with access from the south end of the subway platform.  The collectors booth at this location will be staffed at all times.  Gray Coach and GO Transit will move to their own temporary facility at the west end of the parking lot early in June.

  • When Phase One is completed, TTC buses will move to their new bus terminal.  Gray Coach and GO Transit will continue to use the parking lot facility until their terminal and the rest of the development is completed.

  • There will be no commuter parking at York Mills Station during the first phase of construction, and limited parking until the new development opens in 1989.  Alternative commuter parking is available at Wilson, Yorkdale and Finch subway stations.

SCARBOROUGH RT CLOSING EARLY FOR "WINTERIZING"

  • From Sunday, May 24, until Saturday, June 27, last trips of the Scarborough RT will leave McCowan Station at 9:48 p.m. and Kennedy Station at 10:00 p.m. every night to facilitate the final phase of "winterizing" work on the line.  Service on the 21 BRIMLEY route between Kennedy Station and Scarborough Town Centre Station will be increased to every 9 minutes every night from about 10:00 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. when the Scarborough RT is closed.

  • When the work is completed, you can look forward to improved winter operations on the Scarborough RT line.

TOMMY THOMPSON PARK

  • Summer bus service is again being provided to Tommy Thompson Park at the foot of Leslie Street.  Buses run every hour, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only, leaving Berkshire (Jones) & Queen from 8.45 a.m. to 5.45 p.m., southbound from the park gate from 8.55 a.m. to 5.55 p.m., and return from the park from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (additional trip at 6.00 p.m.)

30 LAMBTON

  • On summer weekends and holidays starting June 28, buses will run south of High Park subway station into High Park via West Road and Colborne Lodge Drive, looping at Colborne Lodge and returning north via Colborne Lodge Drive.  Service into the park on these days will be provided every 30 minutes from about 11.00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

92 WOODBINE SOUTH

  • The summer extension to the Lake Shore will again be provided starting June 28.  Buses will run from Woodbine subway station and loop south of Queen via Queen, Eastern, Coxwell, Lake Shore and Woodbine.  Service Monday through Friday will be provided every 15 minutes from about 9.15 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. and from about 6.30 p.m. to 9.45 p.m.  On weekends and holidays, there'll be a bus along every 15 minutes from about 9.15 a.m. to 9.45 p.m. Buses turn at Queen at other hours.

54E LAWRENCE EAST

  • Extended east of Rouge Hill GO Station via Lawrence to an off-street loop near Starspray Blvd.  Service on the branch will be provided 12 hours a day, Monday to Friday only, with last trips leaving Eglinton Station at 6.07 p.m. and Starspray at 5.53 p.m.  Buses will run every 11-12 minutes during the morning rush, every 14 minutes during afternoon rush and every 17 minutes through the day.

STADIUM EXPRESS

  • Just a reminder that beginning June 25 with the game against Montreal regular-fare STADIUM EXPRESS bus service from Keele, Bathurst and Union stations will be provided to all Toronto Argonauts home games, with the exception of the August 21 game to be played during the CNE.  Express buses leave every few minutes from each location from two hours before and until game time, and take you directly to the Stadium.  Return buses from the Stadium run until about one hour after the game.  Be sure to get a transfer where you pay your fare if you're taking the express from Union.

NORTH YORK CENTRE STATION OPENS THURSDAY,  JUNE 18

  • Toronto's newest subway station will open to the public at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18.  The new station is located on the YONGE subway line about halfway between Sheppard and Finch Stations.

  • Entrances to the station are located at the southeast corner of Princess & Yonge, and on the west side of Yonge at the south end of the North York City Centre Development.  A collector will be on duty at all times the station is open.

  • A third entrance from the retail are of the development is expected to open early next year.

  • 97 YONGE buses will continue to load on Yonge Street and transfers are required to and from the buses and the subway.

7G BATHURST

  • Starting Sunday, July 26, buses will loop at Centre Street via north on Bathurst, then east and south on Atkinson and west on Clark to Bathurst.

  • Co-incident with this looping change, a new Sunday and holiday service will be introduced on this branch of the route.  On Sundays, 7G buses will run very 30 minutes, leaving Wilson Station from 9:07 a.m. to 7:07 p.m. and Atkinson & Centre from 8:52 a.m. to 6:52 a.m.

  • Buses entering or leaving service at Centre Street service all stops in the on-street looping.

INTRODUCING TIMELINE

  • TTC's Timeline, a new telephone service to provide passengers with scheduling information is currently being tested and the public will the opportunity to use the system starting Sunday, August 16.  Timeline is a talking computer that you can call to find out when the next two or three transit vehicles are scheduled to arrive at your stop.

  • Here's how it works. Every TTC bus and streetcar stop will be marked with its own individual telephone number. Jot down the numbers of the stops you use regularly and keep them handy near your phone.  Then just before you leave, call the Timeline number of the stop you are planning to use.  The computer voice will provide you with the scheduled arrival times of the next two or three transit vehicles. 

  • Timeline works 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

September 8,  1987

6 BAY

  • Route split at Front Street starting September 6 due to HARBOURFRONT LRT construction.  Trolley buses will run between Dupont & Davenport and Front & Bay 20 hours a day, 7 days a week with additional rush hour service between Bloor and Dundas.

  • Diesel buses will provide a shuttle service 20 hours a day, 7 days a week from Front via Bay and Queen's Quay to the existing looping at Jarvis.

25C DON MILLS

  • A new Monday-Saturday branch providing service until about 6:30 p.m. From Pape Station via the regular routing to Steeles & Don Mills, then via Don Mills and Leslie, looping via  West Pearce, West Beaver Creek and Highway 7.

39 FINCH EAST EXPRESS

  • Monday-Friday rush hour service improved and stops adjusted.  Buses run express both ways between Finch Station and Warden stopping at Don Mills and Victoria Park only. Buses no longer stop at Seneca College.

37 ISLINGTON

  • Monday-Friday morning 37B "Albion Rd." rush hour service discontinued.  Morning and afternoon rush hour service improved on the 37 "Steeles" branch.

43C KENNEDY

  • A new Monday-Saturday branch providing service until about 6:30 p.m. From Kennedy Station via Kennedy, Unionville Gate and Main Street, looping via Bridle Trail, Unionville Bypass, Kennedy, 16th Avenue, Longwater and Bridle Trail.

52 LAWRENCE

  • Monday-Friday morning rush hour 52A "Weston Rd." service discontinued and these buses reallocated to improve morning rush hour service on 52 "Martin Grove" branch.

129A McCOWAN NORTH

  • A new Monday-Saturday branch providing service until about 11:30 p.m. (Saturday 10:15 p.m.). From Scarborough Centre Station via McCowan, looping via 16th Avenue, Cairns and Raymerville (north).

512 ST. CLAIR

  • Monday-Friday rush hour service running between Lansdowne and St. Clair West Station extended to run between Lansdowne and St. Clair Station.

24C VICTORIA PARK "14th Avenue"

  • A new Monday-Friday rush hour replacing "Esna Park" service.  From Victoria Park Station every 30 minutes via Victoria Park, looping via Steelcase, John, Woodbine, Riviera, 14th Avenue, Hood, Denison, Esna Park and Steelcase to Victoria Park.

24D VICTORIA PARK "Alden"

  • A new Monday-Friday rush hour replacing "Warden via Alden" service.  From Victoria Park Station every 30 minutes via Victoria Park, looping via Denison, Hood, Alden, Esna Park, John and Steelcase.

106A YORK UNIVERSITY EXPRESS

  • Monday-Friday express service restored between Wilson Station and York University.

October 18-19,  1987

 

128 BRIMLEY NORTH  

  • Rerouted starting Sunday, October 18 to run via the new Brimley Rd. bridge over Highway 401. From Scarborough Centre Station via Triton Rd. and Brimley to the off-street loop north of Steeles 18 hours a day (Sunday from about 8:30 a.m.), 7 days a week. Service via McCowan and Sheppard discontinued.

107 KEELE NORTH

  • Starting Monday, October 19, a new branch will provide Monday-Saturday service for the Town of Vaughan to the Maple Arena on Keele Street north of Major Mackenzie Drive until about 10:00 p.m. (Saturday 8:00 p.m.) From Wilson Station via the St. Regis Cres. routing to Keele & Le Page, then via Keele Street to Maple. Co-incident with the start of this new branch, there’ll be improvements to off-peak and rush hour service on the route Monday through Saturday.

66 PRINCE EDWARD

  • Starting Monday, October 19, a new branch will provide Monday-Friday service on Park Lawn Rd., south of Berry Rd. From Old Mill Station via Bloor, Prince Edward, Berry Rd. and Park Lawn Rd. to an off-street loop at Lake Shore Blvd.

55 WARREN PARK

  • After Friday, October 16, service on this trial route from Jane Station into the Warren Park area will be discontinued.

39D FINCH EAST "Neilson"

  • New Monday-Saturday evening service and all day Sunday service between Finch Station and Neilson.  Monday-Saturday service now runs until about 1:00 a.m.  Sunday service provided from about 7:15 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

135 GERRARD

  • New Monday-Saturday evening service and all day Sunday service every 30 minutes between Main Street Station and Warden Station.  Monday-Saturday service now runs until about 1:30 a.m.  Sunday service provided from about 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

119 GRANDRAVINE

  • Monday-Friday rush hour service rerouted to provide a new service into the Firgrove are north of Grandravine & Jane.  During the morning rush hour buses will loop at Jane via Jane, counterclockwise on Firgrove Crescent, Jane, Frith, Laura, Stanley and Jane back to Grandravine.  During the afternoon rush hour buses will loop at Jane via Jane, Frith, Laura, Stanley, Jane, counterclockwise on Firgrove Crescent and Jane back to Grandravine.

43A KENNEDY "Steeles"

  • New Monday-Saturday evening service every 25 minutes between Kennedy Station and Steeles until about 2:00 a.m.  Monday-Saturday evening looping at Finch discontinued.

52 LAWRENCE

  • New Sunday service every 30 minutes between Martin Grove and Lawrence Station from about 7:45 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.   Looping at Weston Rd. discontinued.

130 MIDDLEFIELD

  • Looping at McNicoll extended north of Newmill to Passmore, and new Monday-Friday midday and evening service added every 20 minutes.  Last trips now leave Scarborough Centre Station and Passmore & Maybrook at midnight.

133 NEILSON

  • New Sunday service every 30 minutes between Scarborough Centre Station and Morningside & McLevin from about 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  

53A STEELES EAST "McCowan"

  • New Monday-Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday service minutes between Finch Station and McCowan.  Monday-Friday evening service now provided until about 1:30 a.m.  Weekend service runs from about 7:30 a.m. (Sunday 8:15 a.m.) to 1:30 a.m.  

  • 53 "Pharmacy" service will now be provided only during Monday-Friday rush hours and evenings, and on Saturdays through the day.

24A VICTORIA PARK "Sheppard"

  • Monday-Friday rush hour looping through the Consumers Rd. area revised to run via Consumers, Yorkland, Consumers, Sheppard and Victoria Park. 

24B VICTORIA PARK "Steeles"

  • New Saturday evening service every 13-14 minutes between Victoria Park and Steeles until about 1:30 a.m. 

105A WILSON HEIGHTS

  • New Monday-Friday early evening service every 24 minutes between Wilson Station and Glen Shields until about 10:00 p.m.

95B YORK MILLS "Rouge Hill GO Station"

  • New Monday-Friday evening service between York Mills Station and Rouge Hill GO Station until about 12:30 a.m.
