February 1991

87 Cosburn

  • Starting Monday, February 18, a new Monday-Friday morning rush hour service will be introduced between Broadview Station and Coxwell.  Buses will loop at Coxwell via Coxwell, Mortimer, Durant, Memorial Park and Coxwell.  Morning rush hour service will be provided every 5 minutes on the heavily travelled portion of the route between Broadview Station and Coxwell.  East of Coxwell, buses will come along every 10 minutes during the morning rush.

54 Lawrence East

  • On Saturday mornings starting February 23, Lawrence East 54E buses will provide a new early morning service east of Rouge Hill GO Station.  Service will now start from Starspray at 6.25 a.m.

13 Rouge Hill

  • Starting Saturday February 23, service over the entire Rouge Hill 13 route will start at 6.15 a.m. from Metro Zoo and 6.27 a.m. from Rouge Hill GO Station.  This provides new Saturday morning service on the portion of the route north of Island Rd.


April 1991


  • Buses will loop at the west end via Bloor, West Mall, Burnhamthorpe and East Mall to Bloor. Service will no longer be provided west of West Mall on Bloor or into the Markland Wood looping.  


  • A new Monday-Friday rush hour branch into the Wingold/Tycos Dr industrial area, replacing the "Briar Hill 29E" service. Buses will run from Exhibition Loop, passing the Bloor-Danforth subway line, and loop south of Glencairn via Wingold, Lansdowne, Tycos Drive and Dufferin. Service will no longer be provide in the on-street loop via Briar Hill, Locksley, Roselawn and Castlefield.


  • All buses on the route will run express both ways on Yonge Street between Finch Station and Steeles during Monday-Friday rush hours from 6:00am to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 7:00pm

320/320A YONGE

  • Buses will loop at the south end via Yonge, Queens Quay, Bay and Front.


  • Buses will loop at Finch and Neilson via Finch, Tapscott, Newgale, then north, east and south on Finchdene to Finch.


  • From about 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, Warden South 69 and Gerrard 135 buses will unload in the Warden 68 bus bay; Warden 68 buses will unload in the Warden South 69/Gerrard 135 bus bay. Buses on these routes three routes will continue to load in their regular bays.  


May 12, 1991


  • New Monday-Friday route from King & Parliament via Parliament, Front, Berkeley, Esplanade, Yonge, Front, Spadina and Queens Quay to Bathurst, looping via Queens Quay, Stadium Rd., Lake Shore and Bathurst. Service is provided Monday-Friday only from about 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.


  • Sunday service extended to run between Warden Station and Steeles from about 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening service continues to turn at the loop on Birchmount north of Finch.


  • Revised Monday-Friday south end loop via Wellington, Bay and Front. Service on the route is provided Monday-Friday only from about 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

190 City Centre Express

  • New express route from Sheppard Station via Sheppard Avenue and Brimley Road to Scarborough Centre station. Between the two terminals buses stop only at Bayview Avenue, Leslie Street, Don Mills Road, Parkway Forest Drive, Consumers Road, Victoria Park Avenue, Warden Avenue, Birchmount Road, Kennedy Road, Midland Avenue and Brimley Road. 

  • Buses will run from Sheppard Station at 6:30 a.m., 6:50 a.m., 7:10 a.m., then every 10 minutes until 9:20 a.m., 9:35 a.m., 10:00 a.m., then every 25 minutes until 2:35 p.m., 3:06 p.m. and then every 12 minutes until 6:42 p.m.

  • Buses leave Scarborough Centre Station at 5:50 a.m., 6:10 a.m., 6:30 a.m., then every 10 minutes until 9:00 a.m., 9:22 a.m., 9:47 a.m., then every 25 minutes until 2:22 p.m., 2:38 p.m. and then every 12 minutes until 6:02 p.m.

  • Operated from Malvern garage.


  • New Monday-Friday mid-day and early evening service between Steeles & Signet and Wilson Station. During rush hours, buses run east of Wilson Station to York Mills Station. Service on the route is provided Monday-Friday only, from about 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.


  • New "one-way" rush hour route (replacing 85C SHEPPARD EAST "Victoria Park") running from Sheppard station via Sheppard Avenue, Saleshurst, Consumers Road and Victoria Park Avenue in the morning, and from Victoria Park & Sheppard via Victoria Park, Consumers, Saleshurst and Sheppard to Sheppard station in the afternoon. No return service from Victoria Park to the Yonge subway in the morning, and no express eastbound service from the subway to Victoria Park in the afternoon. 

  • Operated by Malvern division.


  • Monday through Friday from about 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. buses loop at Queen via Queen, Eastern and Coxwell. During Monday-Friday evenings and all day Saturdays and Sundays, buses return westbound from Victoria Park via Kingston Rd., Queen, Eastern and Coxwell.


  • New service on Spadina south of St. Clair. From St. Clair Station over the regular route to St. Clair West Station, then via St. Clair, Spadina, Austin Terrace, Walmer Rd. and Kendal, passing Spadina and Casa Loma. Buses loop via Kendal, MacPherson (just north of Dupont), Spadina and Davenport and run via St. Clair West Station on their return trip. Service is provided every day from about 6:30 a.m. (Sunday from about 9:30 a.m.) to 12:00 a.m.


  • New Monday-Saturday service (139A) from Sheppard Station to Scarborough Centre Station via Sheppard, Victoria Park, Huntingwood, Commander and McCowan from about 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. (Saturday 6:45 p.m.).

  • From about 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, buses (139B) run via Consumers Rd., providing two-way service through the industrial area.


  • “Coxwell” rush hour short turn discontinued. All buses will run between Broadview Station and Main Street Station.


  • Monday-Friday buses provide service on Parliament between Castle Frank Station and King from about 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There’s no change to evening and weekend service running between Castle Frank Station and The Esplanade.


  • Late evening and all day Sunday service extended to run between Victoria Park Station and Ellesmere (Reddin) until about 1:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and from about 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Sundays.

  • Also, a new “Eglinton 67A” morning rush hour branch will be introduced.


  • In conjunction with route changes in the Consumers rd. industrial area and the new City Centre Express 190 route, the 85C, 85G and 85H branches of the route are discontinued.


  • Monday-Friday buses provide service on Sheroburn between South Drive and Queens Quay and Sherbourne only, from about 5:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Evening and weekend service continues to run between South Drive and the extended south end looping via Sherbourne, Queens Quay, Jarvis and Esplanade.


  • New Monday-Friday local service mid-day and evening between Sheppard Station and Victoria Park. During rush hours, all buses run express both ways between Sheppard Station and Don Mills & Sheppard. Service on the route is provided Monday-Friday only, from about 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.


  • Sunday service extended to run between Victoria Park Station and Steeles from about 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.


  • Route split during rush hours, with “98A Senlac” buses running between Peckham and Sheppard Station and “98B Willowdale” buses running between Steeles and Sheppard Station. Through service continues to be provided during off-peak hours.


  • New Monday-Friday summer express service between Wilson Station and York University from about 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.


June 1991


  • Starting June 24, buses will loop through the DeHaviland area via Mniza, Home, Ancaster, Gilley and Garratt.  There's no change to service.

604 Harbourfront

  • Queens Quay Station on the HARBOURFRONT line opened recently. When you’re heading for the Ferry Docks to cool off at Toronto Island, TTC’s the easy way to go. Take the SUBWAY to Union Station, transfer to the HARBOURFRONT 604 route and go one quick stop to Queens Quay Station.


  • On summer weekends and holidays starting June 23, from about 11.00 a.m. to 6 p.m buses will run south of High Park subway station into High Park via West Road and Colborne Lodge Drive, looping at Colborne Lodge and returning north via Colborne Lodge Drive. 


  • Summer bus service is again being provided to Tommy Thompson Park at the foot of Leslie Street.  Buses run every hour, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only, leaving Berkshire (Jones) & Queen from 8.45 a.m. to 5.45 p.m., southbound from the park gate from 8.55 a.m. to 5.55 p.m., and return from the park from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (additional trip at 6.00 p.m.)


  • Starting June 23, buses running from Woodbine subway station and loop south of Queen via Queen, Eastern, Coxwell, Lake Shore and Woodbine.  Service is provided Monday through Friday from about 9.15 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. and from about 6.30 p.m. to 9.45 p.m.  Weekend and holiday service is provided from about 9.15 a.m. to 9.45 p.m. Buses turn at Queen at other hours.


  • We're introducing a new Monday-Friday rush hour express route on June 24 to provide convenient service between northern Etobicoke and Kipling Station.  Buses will run from the loop west of Martin Grove on Steeles via Steeles, Martin Grove, Finch and Highway 27.  Buses return via Highway 27, Humber College, John Garland, Finch, Martin Grove and Steeles providing service to Humber College and Etobicoke general Hospital.  During the morning rush, northbound buses run through the industrial area northwest of Dixon Rd. & Highway 27 via Dixon Rd., Attwell and Belfield.  During the afternoon rush, southbound buses run through the industrial area via Belfield, Attwell and Farnboro.  Buses pick up and unload passengers at all stops both ways between Steeles and Highway 27 & Dixon Rd. and at stops in the industrial area.  Service will leave the loop on Steeles at 5.30 a.m., then every 15 minutes from 6.00 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. and from 4.05 p.m. to 6.20 p.m. (Additional trips leave Martin Grove and Finch every 15 minutes from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.).  Buses will leave Kipling Station at 6.05 a.m. then every 15 minutes from 6.35 a.m. to 8.50 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.


  • The TTC's "Request Stop" program has been expanded from Scarborough to include all TTC bus routes in Metropolitan Toronto.


  • The TTC has recently installed bicycle racks at seven additional subway stations: Bathurst, Greenwood, Keele, Main Street, Royal York, St. Clair West and St. George.  There is capacity for 16 bicycles at St. George and Main Street, and 20 at the other five stations.  Next month, bicycle racks will be installed at the Kiss 'n' Ride facility at Finch Station.

Bayview Restructuring - July 21

11 Bayview

  • Buses will provide through service on Bayview between Steeles and Davisville Station via Bayview and Davisville.  To tailor service to demand on the carious sections of the route, there'll be scheduled short turns between Davisville Station and Lawrence & Bayview and between Davisville Station and Sheppard & Bayview.  All buses will run both ways through Sunnybrook Hospital. Service on the revised route will be provided 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. Service on Lawrence is replaced by the new 124 Sunnybrook route.

26 Bayview North

  • Route discontinued.  Service on Bayview north of Sheppard is replaced by the revised 11 Bayview route.  A transfer is now required at Sheppard & Bayview for service to or from Sheppard Avenue.

28 Davisville

  • Through service running between Davisville Station and Lawrence Station will be discontinued.  Service on Davisville and Bayview replaced by the revised 11 Bayview route.  Service on Lawrence between Lawrence Station and Bayview replaced by the new 124 Sunnybrook route.  28 DAVISVILLE buses will now run between Davisville Station and Belsize & Bayview during Monday-Friday rush hours only.

101 Donway-York Mills

  • Route discontinued and replaced by the new 162 Lawrence-Donway route to Lawrence Station.

162 Lawrence-Donway

  • A new route running from Donway/Don Mills area over the existing 101 Donway-York Mills route to Bayview & Post Rd., then continuing via Bayview and Lawrence to Lawrence Station. Buses run Monday-Friday only, leaving each end of the line from 6.45 a.m. to 6.45 p.m.

124 Sunnybrook

  • A new route running between Lawrence Station and Sunnybrook Hospital, replacing a portion of the 28 Davisville route.  During Monday-Friday rush hours , service is provided via Mildenhall, westbound in the morning, eastbound in the afternoon.  Service is provided 7 days a week from about 5.30 a.m. (Sun. 7.30 a.m.) to 2.00 a.m.

Calvington/Falstaff Restructuring - July 22

120 Calvington

  • Buses will run from Wilson Station over the regular Calvington Dr. routing to Jane.  During Monday-Friday rush hours, buses will run north on Jane and loop at Sheppard via Sheppard, Northover and Giltspur, providing a new service into this area.  During off peak hours buses will turn at Jane & Wilson via Jane, Beverly Hills Drive and Wilson.  Service on the route between Wilson Station and Jane is provided Monday-Friday from about 5.30 a.m. to 6.45 p.m.  Service on Falstaff is replaced by the new 163 Rustic Rd. route.

164 Calvington-Rustic

  • Monday-Friday evening and Saturday daytime service in the area will be provided by this new route running in a clockwise loop from Keele and Wilson via Keele, Rustic, Culford, Falstaff, Jane, Heathrow, Calvington and Keele.  Monday-Friday evening service will be provided from 7.00 p.m. to 12.45 a.m., and Saturday service will be provided from 6.45 a.m. to 7.45 p.m.

163 Rustic Rd.

  • A new route providing service on Falstaff and Rustic Rd. and replacing the present "Falstaff" branch of the 120 Calvington route.  Buses will run from Wilson Station via Wilson, Keele, Rustic, Culford and Falstaff, looping just east of Jane via Maidstone, Beckett, Rustic, Raven and Maidstone.  Note that service is no longer provided on Falstaff between Keele and Culford. Service on this new route will be provided Monday-Friday only from about 5.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.

Other Changes

42B Cummer

  • Buses will run between Finch Station and the off-street loop just west of Kennedy & McNicoll 7 days a week from about 6.00 a.m. (Sun. 8.45 a.m.) to 1.15 a.m.

143 Downtown express via queen east

  • Buses will leave Neville Park Loop in the Beach area at 7.35, 7.50 and 8.05 a.m. Monday-Friday only and pick up at all stops on Queen Street to Woodbine.  Buses run express from Woodbine & Queen to downtown via Lake Shore and the Gardiner and off load at stops on Richmond Street at Church, Yonge, Bay and York.  Initially, service will be provided to downtown during the morning rush hour only.

100B Flemingdon Park

  • During Monday-Friday rush hours, buses will run from Concorde Place via Linkwood Lane and the regular routing to Broadview Station. Service via Linkwood Lane currently looping at Don Mills via Gervais, Eglinton, Don Mills and Wynford will be discontinued.


September 1991

191 Highway 27 Express

  • Starting September 16, Monday-Friday rush hour buses will be rerouted slightly in the off-peak direction to provide more convenient service past Humber College.  During the morning rush, northbound buses will run via the Dixon/Belfield industrial area, Highway 27, Humber College Blvd, Finch and Martin Grove. During the afternoon rush southbound buses will run via Martin Grove, Finch, Humber College and Highway 27.  There's no service past Humber College southbound in the morning rush and northbound in the afternoon rush..

35D Jane

  • Starting September 3, buses will provide additional hours of service between Jane Station and Langstaff Rd. Monday-Friday between the rush hours and in the evening until about 10 p.m., and all day Saturday until about 7 p.m.

116 Morningside

  • Starting September 3, 116A "Conlins" and 116B/116E "Scarborough College" service will be combined.  116 B service will be discontinued.  During the morning rush , buses will run express from Kennedy Station to Scarborough College, then provide local service to Conlins Rd., looping via Conlins, Canmore, Morrish and Ellesmere (116E).  Buses return via Ellesmere, Military Trail, Morningside and the regular routing to Kennedy Station (116A).  This procedure is reversed  in the afternoon rush, i.e. buses run local from Kennedy Station to Conlins (116A), return local to Scarborough College and then run express to Kennedy Station (116E).  For the convenience of customers riding between Conlins and Morningside areas, 116E express bus will make an additional transfer stop northbound on Morningside at Ellesmere and southbound on Morningside at the first stop south of Ellesmere.

96J Wilson

  • Saturday short turn service between Wilson Station and Jane discontinued after August 31.

92A Woodbine south

  • Starting September 3, buses will run south of Queen year-round, 7 days a week, and loop via Queen, Eastern, Coxwell, Lake Shore and Woodbine.  Service to Lake Shore will be provided from about 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. every day (except during the Monday-Friday afternoon rush hour period).  At other times, including afternoon rush hours, buses loop at Queen via Queen, Rainsford and Columbine.

Yonge-University-Spadina Subway

  • Starting Tuesday, September 3, we're discontinuing the short turning of trains northbound at St. Clair West Station during the afternoon rush hour period.  This will provide more convenient service to customers and help to improve the reliability of subway service over the entire line.  Approximately 34,000 customers who begin or end their trip north of St. Clair West Station will benefit from having their service almost doubled.  And by not turning trains and blending them back into service in the middle of the route it means there's less chance for problems which could affect the reliability of service over the entire route.

  • At this time, alternate trains will continue to be short turned at St. Clair West Station during the morning rush hour.


November 1991

59B Maple Leaf

  • Starting November 25, Monday-Friday rush hour service will be extended to the Tandrgidge Crescetn area.  Buses will run from Lawrence West Station over the regular Gary Drive routing to Weston Rd., then run via Weston Rd. and Albion Rd., looping via Arcot and Tandridge Cres.

136 Premium express via wynford

  • Starting November 25, Monday-Friday rush hour service will be extended to begin and end at Concorde Place.  Morning rush hour buses will leave the cul-de-sac at the north end of Concorde Place, arrive at Wynford Heights a few minutes later at 7.03, 7.33, 7.43, 7.53, 8.03 and 8.13 a.m., then continue downtown.  Buses will run express from Overlea & Don Mills.  Buses pick up downtown in the afternoon rush on Richmond and Adelaide (leaving Simcoe & Adelaide at 4.40, 5.15, 5.50 and 6.25 p.m.), run to Wynford Heights and then continue on to Concorde Place.  Special premium fares are charged on this express route.

NEW student Metropass 

  • Starting November 1, the TTC will introduce a Student Metropass to students 19 years of age or younger as of September 3, 1991. You will require your TTC Student Photo I.D. card to use one.  The pass will sell for $42.50.
