February 18, 1996
The TTC is making major service cuts and adjustments beginning Sunday, February 18, 1996. These changes, along with a major restructuring and downsizing and the closing of Lansdowne Garage, will compensate for reductions to the TTC's operating subsidy from the Ontario provincial and Metro Toronto governments in 1996. Each possible service-level reduction and each possible elimination of service on every route in the system, at every time of the week, was considered. The service cuts have been selected to keep the network as easy to use, quick, and comfortable as possible.

You have to deposit the appropriate ticket, token or exact cash fare, or have a valid pass or transfer, after you leave the streetcar to enter the subway at Union Station, or when boarding other TTC services.
